Christmas Craftiness

Ladies & Gents...I'm getting scary and the fam is getting scared.  Craft supplies galore, glue everywhere, and no free space in sight.  But I had a lot of fun with these two crafts, which are Christmas gifts, so shhhhhhhh....don't tell.  I will show you how I did one of them (the art club) but will just link you to the tutorial for the other.

First, the art club.  Such a great idea for grandparents of artsy type kiddos.  The idea is that you give them the plaque, then each month the artists prepare a new piece of art, which is sent to the recipients.  This is a present that gives all year long AND helps clean off your refrigerator!!!

I got these two plaques from Wal-Mart for $3.97 each.  I sanded them down, then gave one to little girl to paint and I painted one.

Then paint your clothespins and the letters and glue them on.

Sweet little guy started working on his art for grandma when he got up from his nap.

Nail the sawtooth picture hangers to the back and voila!!  They are done.  So cute.  Mine is okay as well, but little girl's is awesome (sorry I can't seem to get it to go landscape like ALL the other pics so nicely complied)!!

The next craft I did w/o babies help was coasters.  I got the idea from MOPS who in turn got it from here: http://thecottagehome.blogspot.com/2011/01/tile-coaster-tutorial.html.  Here are how mine turned out.  And no, don't adjust your monitors, that picture of Michael really is how it turned out.  It makes me laugh every time I see it.  Which is why I added it to his grandma's set.  ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha

Happy crafting y'all.  And Merry CHRISTmas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  1. I love both of the craft ideas, but I'm still not reallclear about the art club. I take it that they are all picture projects, or something resembling that, since it would hang from the clothespins. Then would I (assuming I chose to do this, I would be supplying the ideas? Or the idea is, you come up with the project of the month, and then they are sent to the grandparents each month! (lightbulb shining) Anyway, it was really great to see the pictures!

  2. You could either have them do a special project, have them sit down and color a picture specifically for this, or select something they already did. My kids have a lot of pictures and crafts they do at church and preschool, as well as doing crafts at home, so I plan to just select the best of what they do either at home or church and preschool.
